Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit, and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission: Baptism is the sacrament of regeneration through water in the word. Baptism (also called christening) is the first sacrament we receive and makes us members of the Church. Call the parish office to make an appointment with Fr. Andrew Mulcahey. Please call the parish office to schedule a Baptisms. (No Baptisms are held during Lent or Advent). Baptism GuidelinesParents requesting Baptism for their child must be registered, active and participating members of the parish. This means that the parents are presently registered in the parish, attend Sunday Mass regularly, and support and participate in the life of the parish through the sharing of their time, talent and treasure. Expectant parents should call the office (630-851-1100) during the last three months of their pregnancy to begin the process of preparation for their child’s Baptism. If the child has more than seven years he/she will have to attend religious education classes before being baptized. Please call the parish at 630-851-1100.
